This Christmas, with all our presents being
handmade, I had to improvise a bit . I needed
pretty printed fabrics, but could not find anything
i liked. So i decided to print my own fabric using
the gorgeous designs from A Print A Day.
How we do it:
1st, cut your fabric ( I used muslin ) to A4 ,
add some double sided tape around all four sides,
put the fabric onto A4 cardboard / heavy paper.
Then put it into your printer like you would
with normal paper.
That’s the printed fabric coming out
of the printer:
The only problem is that it is not washable,
so you are kind of limited in the uses of
your new fabric.
Note: This will only work in an inkjet printer.
Have fun!

awesome! I wonder if you could do the same thing using linen fabric?

I tried linen, & it worked, satin did not work, though, but maybe it just would have needed time to dry.

There is a product that allows you to treat the fabric so it becomes washable. I use it to print fabrics for my quilted art pillows. Here is a link where you can read more about it.

Excellent! I bookmarked your website because I wanted to make my friend’s DD some of the felt sushi… tonight I was wondering how I would make customized placemats for my SIL, and now I know! I think I’ll create my own design and laminate them, thanks for the wonderful tip!

Quilters use a product called PRinted Treasures which is paper backed fabric that goes through a jet printer. It is washable.
