Have a Happy New Year!
♥
Christmas Eve,
Leaving food out for Santa & his Reindeer ;
Christmas Morning;
Thank you to all of our lovely friends & family who made this Christmas so absolutely lovely & full,
thank you to our family in Germany,too, we missed you so much.
Merry Christmas to you & yours,
♥
ps// matching socks & pajamas? it’s a christmas tradition..
Auntie Katrin gave us some lovely sticky colourful paper, so we cut out some shapes.
Emi then put the sticky shapes onto photo frames to make pictures.
There obviously needed to be a fairy ;
(& glitter, of course!)
They are on our windows now and look great when the sun shines through them.
Wishing you a lovely day

After a couple of very interesting weeks things are finally getting back to normal around here.
Creative energy is filling our house again, together with the smell of our Solstice cake baking in the oven & freshly washed laundry drying.
It feels good to finally be back , with a good book, a cup of raspberry leaf tea & the little one’s working on some Christmas presents.
Happy Solstice to you,
may it be peaceful & full of joy.

Sorry for this very late post, we are still trying to catch our breath , hoping for things to calm down just a little.
This week I am grateful for a very lovely present that sweet Miri sent to us all the way from Israel! (If you don’t speak hebrew, it is really worth putting that link through the google translator!)
Miri is a really good friend of ours and a very talented Mama, (check out the travel activity book she made, or this beautiful waldorf doll!)
I was so happy when I received her present, I am very grateful to be able to have some things from her home in ours, for example this lovely fairy embroidery:
this beautiful hamsa:
& just look at this beautiful tree that Miri’s husband Eyal made for us:
(He is an incredibly talented artist, you can find his Etsy shop here.)
Miri also sent me this beautiful Star of David necklace:
(excuse the photo, have you ever tried to take a picture of your own neck?)
Thank you so much Miri, I am so grateful that we met, I am so grateful for our honest & open conversations, for the advice, for the inspiration, for you.
What are you grateful for this week?
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
♥
I woke up this morning realizing it was wednesday already.
I tried to remember what we did this week, but it was so much, yet so little. So many things that need to get done, the lack of sleep, the lack of quiet & rest, it’s getting to all of us.
Here are some moments of our week, not too many words, as our life right now seems to be so full of those already.
I know you won’t mind.
(& I thank you for that!)
inside:
and outside:
wishing you a lovely and peaceful day.

Today, on Emi & Mama’s special solo date we went to see Santa.
Now, I never met Santa when I was a child, so I was not quite sure about the whole thing,
but seeing Emily’s face light up when she saw the snow, the animals & a whole room full of presents , it was definitely a good idea.
On the way to Santa’s house:
The polar bear scared her a bit…
In the end it was all worth it because we got to meet Santa,
& he even gave Emi a special present!
Maybe George will get to meet Santa next year, too, but for now I think he might be rather scared of him…
Do you take your children to meet Santa?
Wishing you a lovely day!
♥
I do so love the tradition of St Nikolaus,
Emi spent half the day making sure her shoes were really really clean, then she left them by the fireplace with a letter to Santa attatched.
When they woke up the next morning they found some lovely little surprises in their boots:
Do you celebrate St Nikolaus day?
♥

Wow, this week has gone by quickly!
But it has also been full of wonderful little surprises & lots of things to be grateful for!
I am grateful for this very lovely advent calender that the fantastic Auntie Katrin made for the little ones (& sent to us all the way from Germany! Thank you!) ;
the great things we have already discovered inside it:
….slow & cozy winter mornings with my girl, all snuggled up, eating cookies & drinking hot chocolate,
This little one joining us halfway through the morning:

Reading our favourite winter books just about a million times every day:

What are you grateful for?
