Today I am grateful for
the blue sky;
the last days of summer spent with good friends
(which bring the realisation that my daughter is, indeed, rather tall…)
& apple and popcorn picnics :
What are you grateful for?
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
♥
We have not been doing much recently, we spend most days outside , picking blackberries for pie, collecting things for the nature table or just going for a walk around the lake & wild flower meadow.
We are Ioving the crisp & cold autumn air.
(What I am loving even more is that I can finally put that fantastic coat on my little one!
It used to be mine way back then!)
What have you been up to recently?
Wishing you a lovely day!

Dogs’ lives are too short. Their only fault, really.
Today we had to say goodbye to our very much loved dog Sox.
She was the kindest dog I have ever met, & she certainly was very strong willed.
When she first saw you , she would bark till you paid attention to her & said hello properly.
She would tap you till you shared your dinner with her , & always wanted to kiss the children.
She was probably the only dog in the world who could go out for her walk on the beach on a rainy autumn morning & come back completely clean,
& the only dog in the world I let anywhere near my children when they were newborn babies.
She was more than that though.
She was Emi’s best friend,
keeper of her secrets (mainly about cookies those two got out of the kitchen & shared secretly, I believe..) .
She was never just a pet,
she was family.
Goodbye sweet Soxxy.
we will miss you so.
♥

I am grateful for
little signs of summer,
(like the sun shining through vintage aprons!)
Stones with holes in them, & they way they appear in our home in the form
of pirate necklaces, pretend food & as just what they are; random bits of nature.
kid – made prayer flags ,
to brighten up our garden & our days.
What are you grateful for?
have a lovely weekend!
♥
I often get asked things like “what’s the point of a blog?” “what do you get out of it?”
& the answer is quite simple:
connections.
This morning some lovely visitors arrived at our home,
it was Rosaleen of MamaUK with her two lovely little one’s
K & L .
We spent the day together at the beach,
had a lovely picnic & enjoyed watching our girls play together.
By the time we went home the little one’s where covered in sand,
had wet feet & their pockets full of rocks , seashells and other treasures, as it should be.
My littlest?
He had a lot of fun eating couscous & sand, of course.
I hope you had a lovely day, too!
♥
ps// all the swap problems should be sorted now, though due to some very last minute sign-ups some of you are sending to the same person they will be receiving something from, I hope that’s alright.
Please aim to have your swap packages sent out by the 16th of September, or send me an email if you think you will not be able to finish in time, so I can let your partner know.
I do want to apologize for just disappearing like that.
It has been a very busy week with an even busier weekend,
a funeral,
children with terrible colds,
a trip up to London,
a lot of walking to a lot of places,
& far more people taking part in the swap than I ever imagined,
(thank you!)
so I did what everyone would do,
I slowed down.
A family picnic & a lot of books were just what we needed,
& we will be back on Monday .
Thank you all so much for joining the swap,
I am going to match you up with your partners tomorrow & hope to have the information
emailed to you by Tuesday.
I hope you had a lovely weekend,
♥
When I said something about needing more comfort during this & the next season, some of you kindly offered to send something handmade our way, so we thought, why not make it a swap?
We will be swapping handmade items & craft supplies, & I would be so very happy if you would all take part as well.
How to join?
Just send an email with your address to miri@herewearetogether.com !
If you like, you can include some details about yourself, such as hobbies, favourite colour ,
if you have children & how old they are, so that your swap partner knows a little bit about you.
How does it work?
I will use the random number generator to match you up with your partner,
you will send something to one person, & receive something from a different person.
(that means you will get to know two new friends!)
What to swap?
Craft supplies like thread, yarn, fabric, beads, pens etc,
& of course anything handmade, like coasters, blankets, paintings, necklaces etc,
just make something any way you like & send it off!
Please let me know in your mail if you are absolutely not able to ship internationally, as a few Mamas from England & Ireland are taking part.
The last day to sign up will be the 14th of August.
I am really looking forward to this,
thank you!
ps// For those of you who asked, yes, it is perfectly fine to include your business card in your swap package!
